You know how sometimes you tend to find yourself in the right place at the right time? Well, mine was in April 2000, at a motivational speaking presentation.
With a career in retail banking in London behind me, I’d known for a long time that I’d passed my ’sell by’ date in the industry.
I was looking for something to change in my life. Even though others had always viewed me as a go getter, and even if I had achieved things in the passed, now I felt on the edge of a void. I wanted change, but was tired, hungry for new challenges and routes to success. I felt de-motivated, tired, stuck, and out of ideas as what to do next to get out of my lethargy.
However, on that night whilst listening to that particular speaker I began to see light at the end of the tunnel. Suddenly, I began to think out of the box for the first time in such a long time.
After realising it was my present job that had become stale, rather than me, I began to get excited and confident again, realising I still had a future in what I loved!
I realised that I’d just been treading water, running my own story for such a long time, and that story needed refreshing. In short, I needed to express myself as the person I wanted to be, or needed to become. It was time to re-invent me!
So began a journey that would take me into the world of personal development, gaining knowledge and certifications in Personal and Business Coaching, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and most recently Sport Hypnosis.
I am not simply attempting to impress you with my CV, but rather impress upon you how you too can reconnect with your essence and create a whole life relevant to who you are and what you expect today.
Now my life is changed more than I ever thought possible, and it’s been surprising how I’ve managed to facilitate those changes without resorting to drastic action. Nowadays, I’m the guy giving the motivational talks to other people.
I’m sharing my excitement, educating others to the health benefits of being true to their essence, usually beginning with the questions, ‘what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?’
These past few years have been a tremendous experience and I now feel that my destiny is in my own hands and that I can make the changes I want to see happen in my life.
For me it was about having the confidence to dream the dreams I didn’t dare to dream and having the support to keep going when things didn’t seem to be going so well.
Now I know that the person people see when they see me, and it is the one I’d want to see too if I could step outside my body and look back. Still very much a work in progress, and a vital, effervescent one at that.

Research has shown that 80% of every organization investments is spend to improve the human capabilities and promote their interests and 20% of the investments are spend for technological upgrading and production improvements. Entering today the new advanced management practices of knowledge management, investment through people is divided to three general categories.
1. LEARNING ON THE JOB: To develop leadership on the job requires that employees take jobs or project assignments that include leadership responsibilities. Early in a person’s career, working as an individual contributor on team projects provides many opportunities for learning effective leadership. Being a project leader allows an employee to use different types of power and observe how people react to employees attempts to influence them. Team leaders can also ask team members for candid feedback and suggestions for improvement. The rest of the team members can also learn, by observing the relationship between the leader and the team and by practicing the use of referent and expert power.
2. FORMAL ASSESSMENT AND TRAINING: Many organizations ensure that their most talented employees receive formal leadership assessments and attend leadership training programs. These can be conducted in the organization’s own educational facilities, at a college or university, through a computer simulation program managed by human resource companies that play the trainers’ role. Regardless of location, formal assessment and training programs include evaluation of the individual’s current approach to leadership and provide educational experiences designed to improve the individual’s effectiveness as a leader.
3. COACHING AND MENTORING: Whether held at a college campus or at corporations’ premises, most formal leadership development programs take place in traditional classroom settings. Leaders who prefer a more personal approach can hire a personal leadership coach or work with a mentor. Personal coaches can provide an intensive leadership development experience. But they can be quite costly. Few people can afford this method of leadership development. For many managers, having a mentor is more feasible. Mentors are often supervisors or senior colleagues in an organization who provide advice and guidance about a variety of career-related concerns. They can help a manager understand how others respond to his or hers behaviors and point out weaknesses or blind spots. They also serve as role models that a manager can emulate and provide valuable advice concerning the styles of leadership favored in an organization. Finally, they assist a manager in developing leadership capabilities by helping the manager find assignments that will foster on-the-job learning.

The idea of personal growth for me has gone 360ยบ in my thinking about how it relates to business.Let me explain why. I am a “READY GO” person so in the early days of my business I felt that the personal growth component was not a priority.
At first, I felt that far too many people “nested” in personal development and never did the business. I was just the opposite. I didn’t do anything much in the direction of personal growth. As my organization grew, and grew very quickly, I discerned that not everyone has come along the same path of development. People, all of us have come to the business via different directions having come from various career backgrounds. Many of those career paths are not terribly rich in providing opportunity for a person to develop and grow. We all need to be growing in our journeys here on planet earth.
What I will tell you is that it does not build your business to stick your head in a book or tap your toes to the introduction music of the motivational tapes more an hour or two tops per day. This is NOT income producing activity. Income producing activity needs to take at least 80% of your work week. I have no more than five suggestions in my “Leaders are Readers” section and then a few more in the “Supercharge and Take it to the Next Level” portion. I separate the two so new business coaches know they can get started quickly with a short list in terms of personal growth. On my short list is the following:
- Watch or read The Secret (www.thesecret.tv)
- Add these important books to your library and make it a priority to read them…
o Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
o You Were Born Rich by Bob Proctor
o The 4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss
o The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy
These are not in a particular order except one and two. Listening to The Secret will greatly assist people in an important mind-set ? that of being in the state of attraction. Don’t feel you need to be able to do this perfectly right away. It doesn’t happen for most people that way. We are a work in progress so give yourself permission to do your work a little at a time. Whenever I find my mind going to a negative I take a deep breath and move myself to a positive state. So first is the mind-set of attraction. Next I want my new starts to spend time with Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich where they will immerse themselves and feel the importance of growing themselves personally. Early in this work, Hill suggest how to master self-confidence. This confidence piece is one of my favorites. Do a team call on confidence and focus on the portion of his writings.
The 4 Hour Work Week is the freshest piece I have read in a long time. Readers will be highlighting and taking notes on the perspectives and checking the websites Tim Ferriss suggests. It will be a book to carry around with you as you grow your business and choose to develop a lifestyle only some people “dreamline”. You Were Born Rich is just a timeless piece from a highly respected mentor to so many of us. Bob Proctor helped me understand that we are all born with abundance and what we do with that is up to us. Joseph Murphy’s The Power of the Subconscious Mind opens a bright new way in which you use your mind!
The privilege we have before us with a network marketing business is what it allows us in relationships and the development of individuals. DON’T be a gerbil on one of those little tread wheels going round and round and never getting on down the road toward your financial goal. DO hold in high regard the value of personal development. Plan to jog your way through the short list and walk on to whatever you choose to supercharge to the next level. Just make it as easy as possible in the start up to begin your journey of growth.

While many network marketing distributors are still relying on old school methods when it comes to prospecting and promoting their opportunity there is a new tend in marketing called MLM online that uses the power of Internet for prospecting. The world wide web offers tremendous opportunities when it comes to recruiting and advertising and all of that at a very low cost that can suit any budget while at the same time remains highly efficient giving you the best results for the money you spend.
Of course that new MLM marketing method does not come easy as there is some work involved and the necessary know-how in order to use it effectively and get results for the money and time that you spend. Here I need to mention that it is possible to spend only your time while saving your money when you practice online MLM, spend only money and almost none of your time, or do something in between which in my opinion is the best tactic for someone that starts in multilevel marketing.
By investing only your time you can rely on promotional methods that costs nothing but your work and effort. Such methods are article writing and distribution though article directories, blog commenting, participation in Internet forums related to multi level marketing or the niche of your company’s product, free classifieds, and many other ways that don’t cost a cent.
If you go the only money way and little or no of your time you can rely on more advanced methods like search engine advertising and purchasing of leads, but you can also use free methods with a twist this time. The twist is called outsourcing and what you can do is instead of doing these things yourself you can pay others to do it for you. For example you can hire writers to write articles for you that you can put your name on them. You can hire people to scan related blogs and commenting to them or any other free activity that would have cost you in time.
The other way to go in online MLM marketing is a combination of the above two. Use your time effectively in free promotional methods that deliver the most and you can put the highest quality yourself. Have an appropriate budget that you can use for paid advertising like search engine marketing and for buying leads and outsource all the other tasks. That way you can save a portion of the money since some of the marketing goes from your own hands while at the same time you concentrate your activities at the things that you can excel and give your best self in it that would consequently give you and great results. You don’t have to consume and tire yourself with tedious but necessary tasks that can take up a lot of your time for minimal returns.
Of course when you begin you have first to go through all of these free marketing methods for your online MLM business and gradually start delegating the labor intensive parts of your business to the freelancers you hire while you keep the more creative and exciting parts for yourself. That way you can keep your excitement you had when you started in network marketing and not lose it upon working and working on boring and repetitive non-creative tasks that can only tire you mentally and make you lose the momentum with which you begun your journey to multilevel marketing.
While on the one hand when you start with Internet MLM you get too much into the technical things of the business and the how-to, which is natural of course, at the same time you must not forget the personal development aspect that in traditional network marketing is given a great importance. When it comes to building their home business online many distributors tend to forget that aspect and concentrate only on the technical field of this business. Of course that’s not the best way for someone to go who takes seriously his future success.
Business is not only about learning the practical aspects of it but also about transforming yourself to someone that can bring success to his life and value to those that he and his business comes in contact with and to the whole society, too. Yourself and your business are not a remote and cut-off island from the world but you are both interconnected with the whole society and in order to both succeed you need to offer value to the world.
So to summarize, a good MLM online marketing plan need to take into account 4 things. Free promotional methods, paid advertising, outsourcing, and personal development. When you make your schedule and allocate your time and budget don’t neglect any of those 4 things. They are all necessary to your success more or less each one and you can’t do completely without one of them.
A part of your investing should also be allocated to your training and education. You need to learn the technical things of your business and get the motivational courses that can help you grow yourself and succeed. Don’t try to save money there and always try to get the best education that your money can buy you. A few years from now when your whole life would be changed, if you do those things, you would understand how helpful training has been to your success and that you wouldn’t have reached that point without it. At that time continuous learning would have become a trait of your personality that would constantly move you forward to achieve the things that you want in life and reach your goals.
So start marketing your MLM online with no fear and make your personal plan on how are you going to allocate your money and time towards reaching your goals and building a successful Internet business. But remember to also invest time and money in yourself through the proper training as in the future it would be proved that it was one of the best investments that you ever made in your life.

If you are looking for a way to be successful in whatever you do, you may be struggling to find the best formula to help you do so. The truth is that it takes two main components in order to be a success in anything.
The first component is motivation and the second is goal setting. In order to be successful, you need to have a balance of these two components.
Without one, the other is useless. There are many people who are great at setting goals and then follow up with no motivation. They tend to get confused when they rarely meet their goals.
It can be difficult to have the right balance. If you are someone who wants to be a success but will continue to get lost along the way, read more to figure out what you can do to get on the right track.
Finding Motivation:
Motivation is a difficult thing to stir up on your own. We are often motivated naturally to do things. For instance, when we are hungry, we are motivated to find a place to eat. When someone says they lack motivation, they are not being honest with themselves.
Everyone has motivation inside of them. The difficult part may be funneling your natural motivation supply to specific goals you have in mind. Once you know how to motivate yourself, you will find it easier to stay on task.
Each person can be motivated in a different way. Some people work great on a reward motivation system. In this system the participants reward themselves each time they meet a goal.
If you are trying to lose weight, then you can reward yourself with a new outfit each time you meet a goal in your plan. If you are trying to spend less, you can reward yourself with a night out each month you follow your budget exactly.
Many people respond well to this type of reward system, especially if they were raised in a home that practiced the same system.
Setting Goals:
Along with finding your motivation, the other equally important aspect of being a success is learning to set goals.
The most important thing to remember when setting goals is that you should always set realistic goals. Be aware of your capabilities.
It is fine to push yourself a little, but if you create goals that are not realistic, then you will likely give up trying to meet them. Often people who set unrealistic goals are capable of the goal itself, but are exhausted at trying to reach it all at once.
With many goals, like weight loss goals, you should break them up into smaller goals. You can work on part of the goal at a time.
For instance, if you want to lose 100 pounds, it can be difficult to stay motivated with that huge number in mind, especially when the average person can lose a few pounds a week. Try setting a weekly goal of losing two pounds. If you exceed that goal then you can celebrate, but you may find that each goal is right on target.
The less pressure you put on yourself to succeed, the easier it will come.
When you do set a goal, make sure that you are constantly reminded of your goal. You can tell those around you of your goal so you will feel accountable for following through.
You can also create notes to post around your home, office, or car in order to help you keep on track. No matter what your goal is, it must be remembered each day. As creatures of habit, we can easily train ourselves to be successful and meet our goals.
When we are constantly focused on the goal at hand, we will be better able to do so.
When you put 50% motivation and 50% goal setting into something you can guarantee you will succeed. Remember that everyone has the ability to be motivated.
Each person may require a different technique, but we can all be motivated just the same. Also, be sure to set goals often.
Reasonable goals are those that you are capable of meeting. Never push yourself too hard with your goal or you might risk getting burned-out and quitting.
Creating a balance between motivation and goal setting is the key to all success however, so keep trying and you will get it right!
